Little White Lies x Somerset House / Print! and Behind the Screen

From August 15 - 22, Little White Lies will be taking over a space at the London institution Somerset House as part of their Print! Tearing It Up exhibition, a showcase of the best in print journalism.

Somerset House approached Little White Lies with a brief for their East Wing Edit, involving a specially-curated space and events centred around the magazine’s place within film and magazine culture.

As part of the exhibition, the Little White Lies team will be holding a talk with illustrator Sharm Murugiah, who is a regular contributor to Little White Lies and recently illustrated the soon-to-be-published book ‘Where’s the Dude?’.

We will also be holding a free zine workshop where guests can drop in and make their own cut-and-paste zine to take away. A special Little White Lies Arnold Schwarzenegger zine will also be produced on the day for distribution at the Film4 Summer Screen showing of Total Recall.

We are also taking part in two special events to coincide with Film4 Summer Screen. On Thursday 16 August, Little White Lies editor David Jenkins will chair a panel with guests including MUBI’s Director of Programming, Chiara Marañón, freelance film writer Kelli Weston and artistic director of HOME Manchester, Jason Wood. Focusing on the art of discovering movies, the panel will share some top tips with guests about how to make your viewing habits smarter. The event is sponsored by Grey Goose vodka.

On August 22, Somerset House will play host to a live recording of the no.1 movie podcast - 'Truth & Movies', where the gang will discuss all the latest releases and delve into the archives for Film Club, all in front of an audience.

We are thrilled that Little White Lies has been chosen as one of the UK’s leading print titles by one of London’s most beloved and innovative venues. It all feels like a really neat fit.
